Qualified Persons

This Site is used to aid in the process of creating calculations that determine if structures will be capable of performing acceptably for the loads that they may experience. Making that determination is inherently dangerous and should only be done by people who are qualified to do so as determined by the authority having jurisdiction, based on the person's experience, certifications, and any other requirements they may have. DO NOT USE THIS SITE IF YOU ARE NOT CONSIDERED TO BE A QUALIFIED PERSON.

Building Code

Any decisions or designs made as a result of using this Site must meet all of the requirements of the building code and legal requirements approved by the authority having jurisdiction. We make no guarantee that any of the information provided on the Site meets these requirements, and it is entirely the responsibility of the user to make that determination if they choose to act based on information from the Site.

Use of the Calculations

The Structural Central website contains certain pages ("Tools"), where inputs are used to generate content in the form of graphics, text, equations, Portable Document Format (PDF) files, and Hypertext Markup Language (HTML) files ("Calculations").

While our goal is to prevent any potential errors in the Tools and Calculations, we cannot ensure that none exist. We also cannot ensure that the Calculations are applicable for your specific purpose. It is very likely that additional calculations beyond the Calculations generated by the Tool and modifications/revisions to the Calculations will be required.

If you choose to use the Calculations for any purpose, you are taking full responsibility for any consequences of that decision. A LICENSED ENGINEER THAT IS PERMITTED TO DO THIS TYPE OF WORK BY THE AUTHORITY HAVING JURISDICTION MUST REVIEW ALL CALCULATIONS TO ENSURE THAT THEY ARE APPLICABLE AND ERROR-FREE. They must also provide any additional calculations and make any necessary modifications/revisions to the Calculations to fit your purpose, and will be ultimately responsible for the accuracy and applicability of the Calculations.

Calculations Copyright Exemptions

The generated PDF files of the Calculations, or portions of them, are permitted to be exempt from the copyright limitations discussed in the "Content" section of the Terms, but this is strictly limited to the primary purpose of providing documentation for the engineering decisions made while designing or evaluating a structure, and that they must be included as part of a larger document that serves the same purpose. For any primary purposes other than the aforementioned, the copyright limitations discussed in the "Content" section of the Terms will still apply.

Anything produced using the PDF files, as permitted in the previous statement, must continue to include the Structural Central logo and website address ("www.structuralcentral.com").

The generated HTML files of the Calculations are permitted to be downloaded, saved, copied, and altered.

Prohibited Actions

• You may not use an automated program or manual process that systematically makes requests to the Site in order to obtain or attempt to obtain data or information about how the algorithms on the Site work or a significant portion of the results generated from the Site.
• You may not circumvent the navigational structure or the Site to obtain or attempt to obtain any documents, data, or information through any means not purposely made available through the Site.
• You may not take any action that results in a disproportionate number of requests to the Site.

International Use

Although the Site may be accessible worldwide, we make no representation that materials on the Site are appropriate or available for use in locations outside the United States, and accessing them from territories where their contents are illegal is prohibited. Those who choose to access the Site from other locations do so on their own initiative and are responsible for compliance with local laws. Any offer for any product, service, and/or information made in connection with the Site is void where prohibited.

Changes to the Site

Structural Central reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to change, add, or remove the Site or any portion of it at any time with or without notification. We will not be liable to you or any third party should we exercise such right. Any portion of the Site that is modified or added shall also be subject to the Terms.

Copyright, Trademark, Intellectual Property

All custom text, graphics, icons, logos, and names used on the Site are registered trademarks, service marks, and held under copyright of Structural Central.

Except as expressly provided in these Terms, no part of the Site or Calculations, including but not limited to the text, graphics, user interfaces, and computer code, may be copied, reproduced, or distributed in any way to any other computer, server, website, or other medium for publication or distribution or for any commercial purposes, without Structural Central's prior express written consent.

User Submitted Content

User relinquishes the rights to any content submitted on the Site. This includes but is not limited to inputs for Calculations and communication submitted using the website or through email in regards to the website.

Third Party Websites

This Site may link you to other websites on the Internet or otherwise include references to information, documents, software, materials, and/or services provided by other parties. Structural Central is not responsible for that content and is only providing it as a convenience and does not imply endorsement of, association with, or warranty of any kind, either express or implied.
